My daughter and I had two days of dives with Ioanna and Giorgos, and my wife and a friend snorkeled with Iannis (?). All of us had a fantastic experience. These were my 12 year old daughter's first open water dives - and Ionna worked with her individually. I had a chance to observe some of this while diving. She is exactly what a dive instructor should be - calm, patient, thorough, careful, and very capable. By the last dive, Elephant Cave (AMAZING) and the Minewaska we were all together and my daughter was up to speed. Giorgos was a fantastic leader for those of us who had dived before, and the snorkelers were very happy with their experience too. This is a professional, highly competent, excellent group, who speak perfect English, and I can confidently recommend without any reservations.
We have been snorkelling for over forty years, from the Caribbean, Hawaii, West Coast of North America, and this was one of our most memorable dives. Joanna and George of Salty Descents were awesome people to be with, both in their knowledge of the area, but more importantly the attention to the safety aspect of the experience. We were briefed about our equipment and safety so well that all we had to do was what we came for - swimming with the sea life and having fun. If you are in the Chania area of Crete, they will even pick you up at your hotel and return you when finished. We were met by a very delightful Joanna, and had a chance to chat and get to know part of her story. We strongly suggest you check out Salty Descents when on Crete, you will not be disappointed.
We had a great diving lesson with our 10-year-old daughter at Salty Descents. Johanna is such a patient & attentive instructor. She explained in details and waited until we were ready. The hidden place that they brought us was magnificent + some beautiful pics were given as souvenir!

A large group of us went out with Salty Descents to snorkel, some experienced, some beginner. We had a great time! They were all great fun and professional; we felt very safe and saw lots of amazing sea life and enjoyed floating around above the depths. Highly recommend!
In my 2 week holiday, I've made the decision to enroll into scuba diving. So I entered this local school to give it a shot. Well, what can I say? It was a blast! I meat my instructors Ioanna and George and both were instantly welcoming me with open arms. I was going through 5 basic dives in order to achieve my open water diver certification. I've learned a ton and I've seen even more breathtaking (pun not intended) sights of underwater SeaWorld. Towards the end of my holiday ionna contacted me about 2 fun dive opportunities which I gladly excepted. Overall I can wholeheartedly recommend this diving school since they are very well equipped with first class equipment, have the most lovable instructors and it's a clear thing that I will certainly return to this place! We went as a family and had an amazing experience with Salty Descents. I completed two dives with my Open Water certification, while my two eldest (16 and 13) enjoyed two dives each as part of their beginners course. My wife and youngest joined in for some fantastic snorkelling. We felt completely safe at all times – the team is highly professional, with exceptional standards and top-quality equipment. Both dives were incredible, and the whole day was unforgettable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an outstanding diving experience!
